AFTER HER BOYFRIEND’S MOTHER CALLED HER THE WRONG NAME, WHICH CAUSED A DRAMA IN MOTHER’S BIRTHDAY

Leylah and Todd had been together for five wonderful years. Their relationship blossomed after Todd and his high school sweetheart parted ways, and Leylah, who was close to Todd’s family, seamlessly integrated into their lives.
Todd’s mother, Tammy, had always envisioned Todd and his ex, Emma, rekindling their romance and starting a family. Despite Leylah’s presence, Tammy occasionally slipped and called Leylah by Emma’s name. Initially, Leylah brushed it off, but as the years passed, the situation became increasingly tense.
Then came Tammy’s 60th birthday celebration, where everyone was tasked with bringing food for the party. During the event, Todd’s oldest sister turned to Leylah and praised Todd for speaking highly of Leylah’s cooking skills.
“Todd says you make mean meals and desserts, according to my husband here,” she said.
“I do dabble here and there, and I think Todd just speaks highly about my kitchen prowess because he’s biased,” Leylah replied with a smile.
Tammy then suggested, “Why don’t we let Laura make the birthday cake this year?”
As Todd’s sisters agreed, Leylah saw an opportunity for revenge.
When the birthday arrived, Leylah executed her plan. When people asked about the cake, she feigned surprise. “Ah, the birthday cake!” she exclaimed. “I was so looking forward to tasting Laura’s famous baking. Wasn’t she bringing the cake?”
Confusion ensued as Tammy insisted Leylah was supposed to make the cake.
“Mom, I think there’s been a bit of a mix-up. Maybe Laura got stuck in traffic?” Todd chuckled.
Attempting to diffuse the situation, Todd’s younger sister suggested ice cream from the freezer.
“This is unbelievable! A birthday without a cake is like a summer without sun! Leylah, how could you?” Tammy raised her voice.
“I was under the impression that ‘Laura’ was in charge of the cake. After all, that’s who you’ve been excited to see today, isn’t it?” Leylah responded, bringing the room to silence.
After more drama, Todd and Leylah were asked to leave. “You certainly made this a birthday to remember,” Todd remarked as they returned home.
