“I have only one year left to live. Marry me, give me a son, and your family will never struggle financially again,” said the rich landowner.

“I only have a year left to live. Marry me, give me a son, and your family will never have to worry about money again,” the wealthy landowner told her. 😢
The impoverished milkmaid agreed out of sheer desperation. However, on their wedding night, a terrible discovery left her completely horrified. 😱😲

The poor girl was only twenty years old. Her hands constantly carried the scent of milk and hay, and her boots were rarely dry from the mud of the fields. She lived in a crumbling wooden house with her mother, whose health was failing. Her father was behind bars, locked in prison because of debts that the family had no hope of repaying.

The village was full of different rumors, but the harsh reality remained the same: there was no one to provide for them, no money in the house, and there were days when they truly had nothing to eat.

With every passing month, her mother grew weaker. The necessary medicines were far too expensive for them to afford. The girl would wake up long before dawn and work on the farm until the sun went down, but her meager wages were barely enough to keep bread on the table. Sometimes she would sit by the window, staring out at the road, lost in the uncertainty of what her future held.

It was during one of these dark moments that a wealthy man entered their lives. He was approximately forty years old, dressed in an expensive suit, driving a luxury car, and carrying the heavy, commanding gaze of a man who was used to getting exactly what he wanted.

He arrived at their home and spoke with a calm, almost indifferent tone:

“I will arrange for your father’s early release. I will settle every one of his debts. Your family will never have to face want again. In exchange, marry me and bear me a son. I only have a year to live anyway.”

He spoke with the same coldness as if he were negotiating a real estate transaction.

The girl remained silent. She studied his face and his overwhelming confidence, and strangely, she felt a flicker of pity for him. Forty years old. Wealthy beyond measure. Yet, he was entirely alone. He insisted that the doctors had given him twelve months at the very most.

Ultimately, the girl gave her consent. She told herself it wasn’t just for the money. After all, he would be gone in a year. Her father would be free, and her mother would finally receive the medical treatment she needed. She wondered what she actually had to lose.

The wedding ceremony was performed quickly and without fanfare.

However, during their wedding night, the girl experienced something that left her in a state of total horror, and by the next morning, she had fled the house in a panic. 😨😲

After her husband had fallen asleep, the girl found herself unable to rest. The sprawling house felt alien, cold, and unwelcoming. She stood up to walk through the quiet hallway and noticed a faint light coming from the office. The door had been left slightly ajar.

There were various papers scattered across the large desk.

She had no intention of snooping through someone else’s private documents. However, her eyes were suddenly drawn to familiar words on a page. A date. A signature. The official seal of a medical clinic.

She walked toward the desk with slow, hesitant steps.

It was a formal report from a doctor, dated only a few months prior. There it was, in plain black and white: her husband was in satisfactory health. The prognosis was favorable. There was not a single mention of a fatal illness or a limited lifespan.

Lying nearby was another legal document—a contract with a lawyer. It stated that if a child were born, the entire estate would pass to the heir. However, if no child was produced, the marriage was to be annulled within a year, which would leave her with absolutely nothing.

As she would later discover, a very wealthy relative of his had passed away and left him a massive inheritance, but it came with one strict condition: he had to become a father within a year to claim it.

She had been used, lied to, and her sense of pity had been cruelly exploited. She was nothing more than a tool to secure a fortune, destined to be tossed back onto the street like a piece of unwanted property once her purpose was served.
